Man, there's a Leo Sayer song spinnin' in my brain right now! I envy those who can dance - because I have proven many times that while my spirit is willing - I have two left feet. BTW - What ever happened to Denny Terio, anyway?

What a fascinating entry. You look wonderful and so happy. I had always been involved in the world of dance although now it is more of the mediation and yoga stuff. Age for me has its boundaries. Thank you so much for sharing this, what awesome memories. Sandyz

Love the pictures and the trip down memory lane. I'd fail miserably if I had to compete as a dancer, because I've got no formal training, no clue what's "right." But that's never stopped me from getting out there and making a fool of myself when the music and the timing was right. It's the sheer joy of allowing the music to dictate where your arms and legs should follow. Despite all of the naysayers these days, disco was a bright spot: people got to dress up and have FUN!

Deney Terrio who coached John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever and hosted Dance Fever for seven years, is still alive and kicking. He did a 2005 movie (playing himself) called A Night In Heaven (about the disco days) and has a six-day-a-week disco music program on Sirius Satellite Radio and, after the success of Dancing With the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance, is pitching his own project to TV networks. GOT to get me some Sirius!!!

How completely fabulous - what a fascinating entry, darling (not that they all aren't, of course, but you know what I mean...) The photographs and snippets were delightfully riveting. And it goes without saying how gorgeous you are! Love, R xxx

Wow. Just. Wow. I wish I'd learned it, but I never had the chance. Maybe I'll take it up as a recreational thing someday, when I can afford lessons. I remember going through high school and the revival of it being a popular fad.
