You can do a lot in 90 days if you put your mind to it, kiddo. I will help you in any way I can.

Darling, I don't want to alarm you. But Greg and I set up our trust in 3 days. Now granted that we only had modest holdings, but the reality check says that Mr Lucky's will probably take about a week. That is, whenever he gets off his ass to do it. Thank heavens he is a procrastinator. Do it today. Call an attorney, let him know the timeline, and DO IT! The fact that Mr. Lucky gave you that ring may give you more protection under Virginia law. Nici...I'm dead serious. Don't hesitate a moment. You are right, once it is in a trust, no one can pry it loose, not even the IRS. Call me if you have any questions, OK? Love you darling!

Oh, and the first impression I had of the new COO is that she earned the job by being Mr Lucky's mistress. Am I off-base here? Just sounds odd is all.

I'm with Rosie - and I also believe that Mr. Lucky is intentionally providing the means for you to drain every resource you have, with the express thought that you then can NOT take his sorry butt to court. Get thee to a lawyer and get thee a preliminary injunction NOW.

NOW. NOW. NOW. PLEASE. I refuse to sit idly by and let this guy ruin you. Please call an attorney. In fact, here are some web addresses for you: http://www.camaur.com/TrustsPC.shtml http://www.steffanmacdonald.com/daURL/TA/trust-administration.htm http://www.srislawyer.com/CM/PracticeAreaDescriptions/VIRGINIALIVINGTRUSTS.asp If you want me to, I will call and make an appointment for you. Everyone here is right--you don't have 90 days, you have maybe two. Call and get this taken care of, please. We will all rest so much easier if we know that you're taken care of. Don't worry about it tomorrow--worry about it now. I am.

You still do accounting? Why don't you just "account" for yourself your termination pay, based on some percentage of your salary x the years of work write up and sign a document using his password and login then issue the check to a new bank account and then turn that over to a lawyer to put in trust for you pending the outcome of your "divorce"/"palimony" case that he is going to file for you, demanding at least half of everything plus health insurance maintenence for you. You can tie him up in multiple nets of legal B.S. until he cries uncle. Your attorney could hint about all the "insider" knowledge of IRS finageling, improper terminations, sexual harrassment of employees etc, true or not. I once got paid my last checks and moneys by explaining to the owner how the INS frowns on knowing employing illegal aliens and not paying thier payroll taxes. It worked just fine! I think with a little gall and an equal amount of chutzpah as well as a real shyster lawyer you could end up quite well off. It's so frustrating to get home late at night and find the locks changed and a sign on the front door, "go away! You don't live here anymore!" Curiouoso*
