We are born with a scream; we come into life with a scream, and maybe love is a mosquito net between the fear of living and the fear of death. ~~Francis Bacon Quotes
clarity25 is a delightful diarist I found because the inimitable bluemeany is a great love of mine. Clarity is doing a guest entry taggy thingy which is so cool I know you all wish you had thought of it first. She picks a random 25 people, adds them to her guest entry list and asks them to write an entry in her diary about their life clock. Oh just go look at it to understand.
Ive not been tagged, of course, cause I'm not one of the cool kids, but I began thinking about it. So I visited Deathclock.com and TimeandDate.com to get my numbers.
I was born a Pisces, March 14, 1950. I have used up:
Deathclock says I have until July 13, 2041 to do everything I want to do, be everything I want to be, and leave some good works along the way. It occurs to me I'd better get started because, considering how long it's taken to do what I've already done, and be what I've already become, this is not nearly long enough to build any real lasting monuments:
Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows. ~~Pope Paul VI
If we start when we plan to start, Gabriel and I could have this much time together:
If you should die before me, ask if you could bring a friend. ~~unknown
But Deathclock, taking into account height, weight, and the average (although I would hardly call Gabriel average) male life expectancy says we will only have this much:
What a wry twist of karmic fate that would be.
This journey into the dark side has, at least, allowed me to eloquently paraphrase the last unoriginal thing I said in 101 Things . Better Gabriel for 6000 days, than no Love at all.
And leave you with an absolutely fabulously apropos quote!!
I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge - myth is more potent than history - dreams are more powerful than facts - hope always triumphs over experience - laughter is the cure for grief - and love is far stronger than death. ~~Robert Fulghum
